A Lincoln woman's worst nightmare serves as a warning to other young women. Watch out for the date rape drug. It's here in Lincoln and it could happen to you.

"Then I woke up to a guy sexually assaulting me and two guys holding me down," Heather Jurey said.

Heather Jurey never thought it would happen to her. Rape. With drugs working against her, she couldn't fight back.

"You say it jokingly. Watch my drink, make sure someone doesn't slip something in it, or slip something in it if you want to, but I never thought it would actually happen," Heather said.

Heather says a night of dancing in a downtown bar turned into a nightmare after she met a seemly nice young man with dark intentions.

"A guy asked to buy me a drink and I said 'yeah that's fine.' Then he asked if he could dance with me. I said 'that's fine', so we danced. Then I started feeling really dizzy," Heather said.

Heather says it was strange for her body to react the way it did, since she only had three drinks over the course of several hours. Her only explanation is the date rape drug.

The last thing she remembers before blacking out is being pushed into a car. When she woke-up, she says the man who bought her drink was on top of her, raping her.

"I pushed them out of my way and kind of grabbed my stuff. I just ran outside but one of the guys was chasing me," Heather said.

Heather says she ran through a neighborhood near 49th and Madison, without pants. She was frantically calling everyone she knew. Molly Trueblood answered the phone.

"She was in hysterics. She kept talking about stairs, having to go up stairs and men raping her. It scared me," Molly said.

Heather believes three different men sexually assaulted her, using a date rape drug. She filed a report with Lincoln Police. Lincoln Police investigate over a hundred rape cases a year. Officers are aware the date rape drug is out there.

"I just wanted to go home and shower, but they convinced me to go to the hospital," Heather said.

Only tough days followed. Heather has a hard time walking because of the assault. She spent two more days in the hospital suffering withdrawal symptoms. She says the anxiety is almost unbearable. It's a feeling she hopes no one else will have to endure.

"No one was there and her friends left her downtown without telling her. If you are a single female you need to go downtown with a group of people you can trust and don't leave your friends," Molly said.

Heather warns girls to watch their drinks and not to make the same mistakes she did. She went downtown with friends, but they left. She thought they were just going to the bathroom.

Don't take drinks from strangers. If you do, make sure it comes straight from the bartender. If you are going out, always go with a friend.

Heather doesn't know if she will ever go downtown again.

She's is taking it one day at a time. It's a night she can barely remember but will never forget.

Heather describes the suspects as three black men in their 20's. They were riding in a dark car with dark tinted windows, driven by a white woman.

It happened November 17th. She believes she was put into the car shortly after the bars closed at 2 a.m.
