Nebraska youth can apply until May 7 for the No Limits Summer Summit, May 29–31 at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
No Limits is Nebraska’s youth-led tobacco prevention movement open to young people ages 12–18 in grades 7–12. At the Summit participants will learn about ways the tobacco industry deceptively markets its products to teens. The Summer Summit helps participants improve communication and leadership skills as they join together to reduce tobacco use among their fellow teens.
Experts in tobacco prevention and activism tactics will share their knowledge through hands-on experiences. Youth participants will plan and participate in an anti-tobacco activism event on May 31, which is World No Tobacco Day.
The No Limits Summer Summit is free, and transportation to Kearney is provided. Youth can attend as an individual or as a member of a group. A group sponsor is encouraged but not required. Applications must be submitted by May 7, 2014. More information and application forms are available by clicking the link or by contacting No Limits Project Coordinator Molly Kincaid at 866-FYI-TEEN (866-394-8336) or info@NoLimitsNebraska.com.
