Demand for Scooters and Wheelchairs at State Fair Goes Up & Down

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- As the Nebraska State Fair continues, scooter and wheelchair rentals fill up quickly.

Iowa based Hometown Mobility brings scooters and wheelchairs to state fairs across the region to help those who can't walk across the grounds.

This year they brought around 90 scooters to the Nebraska State Fair.

Hometown Mobility said their business has been off and on at the fair so far this year, knowing Wednesday would be their big day.

"Today we are completely booked up on reservations," said Philip Robertson with Hometown Mobility. "Last year I think we had about 40 reservations and this year we have 80+. Quite the jump and it really helps when we have the reservations, it gives us a better idea on how many scooters we do need to bring down to the fair."

Robertson said because of the high demand they will probably bring an extra 20-30 scooters next year.
