Squealing tires, metal crashing and the smell of gasoline burning - it's a motor sportsfan's dream. The demolition derby headlines the night time schedule at the Lancaster County Super Fair. For the first time the derby will feature three different classes of competition.
"We have the compact cars, which have been around since the 80's, the old school full size cars and this year we are bringing in the pick ups, something new. If you have not seen pick-ups in a demolition derby, you've got to see them," said Bob Muhlbach, Demolition Derby Director.
The first round of the derby starts Friday at 7 p.m. The winner receives a prize of $1,000.
"This ain't your grandfather's Demolition Derby," said Muhlbach.
