A traffic stops ends in the discovery of more than 15 pounds of meth on Highway 77.

Deputies pulled over 55-year-old Alfonso Lopez Garcia and 49-year-old Fredy Salvador Alcatraz-Mendoza Sunday afternoon.

Sheriff Terry Wagner said deputies became suspicious of the men during their conversation and called in a K-9 Unit.

The dog smelled drugs in the car and during a search deputies found 15.7 pounds of meth worth around $712,000.

"This is an ongoing investigation we are going to try to track the meth. We do this on all these stops, we see if we can track the drugs or money to work our way up the chain to make the determinations," said Wagner.

Both men were arrested for possession of meth with the intent to deliver.
