A mother and daughter from California were arrested on March 14 after deputies found $50,000 in drug-related money during a traffic stop.
Deputies said a 2013 Toyota with California plates was stopped after following other vehicles too closely on west I-80. A canine unit detected drugs on the vehicle. After searching the vehicle, deputies found the bundled U.S. currency and a suitcase with traces of marijuana.
The driver of the car, 38-year-old Padoua Chang, and passenger, 59-year-old Ma Xiong were lodged for possession of drug-related money.
Chang was also arrested this year for possession of 150 pounds of marijuana in Utah.
