Update: Lincoln Driver in Hospital after Stolen Car Hits Pole

Police are investigating an early morning crash in south Lincoln.

Lincoln Fire & Rescue and Police were called to the 2100 block of Pine Lake Road about 5:12 Saturday morning. The initial report was on a car hanging on a guard rail over a creek.

According to Officer Keifer Hyland, the Toyota Corolla was traveling east on Pine Lake Road when it lost control and hit a metal pole, supporting the crosswalk lights. The car came to a stop on top of the pedestrian guard rail.

Hyland said the driver was transported to the hospital for unknown injuries.

Damages for the crosswalk and guard rail have not been determined.

The car is believed to be a total loss. Police are investigating whether alcohol played a role in the crash.

Lincoln Police have released new details about this accident. The car involved in the crash was stolen from a party. Police said someone took the keys and car not long before the crash was reported.
