Drug Bust Yields 1/2 Pound of Meth, Five Arrested

Authorities said they seized approximately half a pound of methamphetamine in a drug bust early Thursday morning. The search occurred at #43 K & K Plaza in Hastings.

Officials said Eusebia Bueno was charged with conspiracy to distribute more than 50 grams of actual methamphetamine, Jaime Barraza was charged with conspiracy to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine, and Ruben Manzano was charged with distribution of 50 grams or more of actual methamphetamine. The U.S. Attorney's Office said the three are facing federal charges and will appear in federal court on Tues., Oct. 30, 2012 at 2 p.m.

Two others, Francisco Barraza and Ramiro Chavez-Nava, are facing state charges of possession of methamphetamine. The Adams County Clerk's Office said they were arraigned Thursday afternoon and will reappear in court on Fri., Nov. 9 at 9 a.m.
