The CDC is reporting early cases of influenza nationwide. One Lincoln doctor says he's seen two cases of the flu so far this season, which is one third of the flu cases he saw last year.

Dr. Marlon Weiss says the cases he's seen so far this year have been mild and have lasted approximately four days.

Weiss says the best way to avoid getting the flu is by getting a flu shot. The injections are available at various locations from pharmacies to physician's offices. Weiss adds that patients who get their immunizations earlier are less likely to get sick.
