Lincoln police say that six people were transported to the hospital following a three-vehicle crash involving a StarTran bus.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of 56th and Pioneers Blvd. just before noon Monday.

Police say one car ran a red light and collided with the bus. The bus driver then lost control, jumped the median and hit a jeep. Reports indicate that the bus then hit a nearby building.

Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews had to extricate the trapped bus driver. None of the injures are believed to be life-threatening.

Traffic is being rerouted away from the accident.
