Lincoln police have identified the man killed in a train-pedestrian accident near 8th and Pioneers.

Officer Katie Flood said 36-year-old Timothy Lanham was found dead Wednesday just before 8 a.m.

Police say an employee of Burlington Northern Santa Fe spotted Lanham's body on the tracks and called authorities. Officer Katie Flood said that they are unsure when Lanham was killed. Flood said the BNSF worker that called police was not on the train that hit him.

Investigators are still working to determine if the death was an accident or intentional. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday.
