An engine block heater is believed to have been what started a car fire which destroyed the vehicle while parked at home.

About 11:15 p.m. Sunday, Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews were called to the 6000 block of Cullen Drive for a reported car fire.

Crews reported heavy flames when they arrived.

LFR said the owner uses an engine block heater during winter months and that is what is believed to have caused the fire.

The Honda Pilot is considered to be a total loss.
