Police released new images of an armed robbery suspect still on the loose.
Police say a masked man used a gun to rob the Kwik Shop on North Cotner. It's a crime we first told you about when it happened two weeks ago. Police say it happened in broad daylight.
"The suspect approached the register and began demanding the money," said LPD Officer Shane Winterbauer. "However the clerk indicated that she couldn't understand him due to his face being covered up with the earmuff warmer."
To hide his identity, the suspect completely covered his face with the ear muffs. He was also wearing a black hoodie, dark pants and white shoes. The clerk soon found out he also had a gun.
"At that time, the suspect pulled a small, black handgun from his pocket and displayed it to the clerk and again stated that he wanted the money," said Winterbauer.
The clerk gave him the money and he took off, but not before another employee saw what he was driving.
"He observed the suspect entering a late '80's or early '90's white Cadillac Deville or similar, with no license plate and dark-tinted back windows," said Winterbauer.
This type of crime is puzzling to Lincoln Police. It happened just after 10am. It's a crime that's much more common during the overnight hours.
"It's unknown at this time if he had been watching the store and trying to determine when the best time for him to complete this robbery depending on the volume of people inside the store," said Winterbauer.
Police say he's in his mid 20's, standing 5'7, weighing 140 pounds.
