LINCOLN, Neb.-- A fight outside a local club lands a security guard in the hospital with stab wounds and the suspect in jail.

Just after 2 a.m. Saturday, Lincoln Police were called to The Office near Folsom and Prospector Streets for a stabbing. Police say two bouncers were holding the suspect down and waiting for police.

Captain Don Scheinost said officers took 26-year old Benjamin Reddish into custody.

Officer Katie Flood says that Reddish is dating a dancer at the club and became upset when the victim was paying too much attention to his girlfriend. Flood says Reddish threatened the man and security guards escorted him outside. Reddish produced a knife while being escorted out and began fighting.

Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews took the security guard to the hospital for several cuts to his hands. Reddish was taken to the hospital for minor injuries and once cleared medically, he was transported to jail.

Police said Reddish was lodged in jail for second degree assault and assault with a deadly weapon.
