Authorities have identified what caused a fire that did extensive damage to an Oak Hills Neighborhood.
Lincoln Fire & Rescue crews were called to the 5100 block of W. Condor Lane, just after 7 p.m. Monday.
According to Battalion Chief Derrald Murrell, the fire broke out in the attached garage of a the house.
Inspector Ken Hilger said a child had started a fire in the garage earlier. The debris from that small fire were put in a combustible container and that caught fire later.
Murrell said two house cats were killed, but no other injuries were reported.
Hilger said there is extensive smoke damage to the home. He estimates $50,000 in structural damage and $100,000 in damage to household contents.
