It was hot duty on a cold night for Lincoln Fire and Rescue as they are called to a house fire in West Lincoln.
A little after 1:30 a.m. Friday crews were called to a report of fire along at a house on the 5400 block of West Hughes.
The fire was mostly in the garage and front part of the home, but smoke did get into the neighboring duplex.
With the cold temperatures, crews had to take special precautions.
"The ability to move around on slippery surfaces, the icy sidewalks and snow in the yards all kind of takes a toll on their muscle groups as they move around. It tires them out quicker," said Battalion Chief Brad Thavenet.
LFR says the people living next door had to relocate for the night because LES cut the power to the apartments. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
