Lincoln fire inspectors are investigating an arson fire involving a car.
At 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, Lincoln Fire and Rescue was sent to a car fire in the 2200 block of Holdrege. Officials at the scene said the fire is suspicious because of the location of the flames - they explained that the fire was not started near any ignition source on the car.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue officials said the windshield of the car was smashed and there was a large rock on the street nearby. They believe the rock was used to break the windshield before the fire started because the location of the fire could not have damaged the glass.
Lincoln Police were on scene and working on suspect leads. The car is a total loss.
