Just before 10:45 p.m. Saturday, crews were called to a fire at the Woods Park Christmas Tree Recycling Center near 32nd & J Streets.

Calls to Lincoln 911 center began pouring in as people from several parts of town were able to see the glow in the sky as the trees burned.

Firefighters knocked down the flames until they were able to get to the individual trees and spread them out and applied even more water.

The Recycling Center is designed to collect trees which are later ground up into chips.

The trees are the only thing damaged in the fire.

The cause of a Christmas Tree fire at Woods Park has not been determined.
