Firefighters had a difficult time trying to get to a grass fire at Conestoga Lake.
Just after 1:00 Tuesday morning a Lancaster County Deputy spotted the fire due west of the boat ramp in the northwest corner of the lake.
Crews from Pleasant Dale Fire Department responded and they too were stumped on how to access the area.
One crew member said he believed the fire may have been sparked from an earlier controlled burn by State Games and Parks.
The fire seems to be contained to an island with the lake to the east and south, and a slough to the north and west.
Crews discussed whether or not to let the fire burn itself out since it was contained by the water boundaries.
It's unclear if the fire was extinguished or was left to burn. Calls to the fire department were not immediately returned.
