Police are investigating the source of three grass fires which have been linked to fireworks.
Fire crews were dispatched to grass fires at 33rd and Vine Streets around 8:00 p.m. and the 800 block of S. 10th Street about 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
At 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, police were called to the 3300 block of Smith Street for another grass fire which residents put out themselves.
All three fires have been linked to fireworks based on evidence at the scenes or witness accounts.
Tesha Lewis said she was outside with her dogs on 10th Street when she heard a boom and saw what she said is a ground bloom flower which spins and has a bunch of colors. Seconds later, flames from the burning grass were close to 2 feet high and burned an area a few feet wide.
Damages were limited to grass in all three incidents.
