Former BSDC Employee Sentenced on Abuse Charges

BEATRICE, Neb. -- A man convicted of abusing disabled adults at the Beatrice State Developmental Center where he worked was sentenced to 9-15 years in prison on Wednesday.

Last month, Matthew Pangborn pleaded no contest to three counts of abuse of a vulnerable adult and two counts of strangulation. Four other charges were dropped as part of a plea deal with prosecutors.

Five BSDC employees were charged, but Pangborn was the only one to face trial.

The others took plea deals for reduced charges.
