A Grand Island man acquitted of murder has turned himself in after failing to appear in court on assault charges.

According to corrections records, Arkanjelo Kot was booked into the Hall County Jail shortly before 1:00 p.m. Monday.

A warrant for his arrest was issued after Kot failed to appear in court in February for assaulting a corrections officer while in jail.

He was found not guilty in November of the shooting death of Walid Omar Aden.
