The Grand Island Police Department is asking for the public's help to find a missing woman.

Authorities said relatives reported 22-year-old Maria de Los Angeles Ventura missing on Friday.

They said she asked her sister to babysit her child on Tuesday night and then didn't return.

"If she does hear this or people see her, have her contact her family or contact law enforcement so we can clear up this case," said Officer Butch Hurst. "We understand it's not against the law to disappear, but it just seems a little unusual."

Officials said there are no indications of foul play yet, but they will continue investigating.
