There is some welcome news for the holidays, AAA Nebraska says gas prices have fallen on average of 26 cents per gallon just in the last month alone, and they are expected to keep dropping through Christmas.
Andrea Gurney says she would much rather fill up on gas in Nebraska than her home state of Wyoming.
"When I left today it was $3.51 for Unleaded so I guess it's a little bit better $3.27 per gallon here," said Gurney.
Giving her more bang for her buck.
"Definitely I'd like to see it back in the two dollar range," said Gurney.
AAA Nebraska says Andrea may get her wish, or at least get pretty close to that two dollar mark as gas prices are expected to drop another 25 cents through the holidays.
"And the reason for that is we've had an uneventful hurricane season which didn't compromise any production and also inventory levels right now are high," said AAA Spokeswoman Rose White.
White says Nebraska has seen gas prices fall on average 26 cents a gallon in the last month alone.
"And only one other state in the country reported as significant of a drop, which is Kansas," said White.
AAA says in Grand Island gas prices are averaging $3.22 cents in North Platte the average is $3.37 per gallon, but some drivers are finding cheaper prices, and Gurney says that is definitely welcome news.
"I think that is great. Too bad they wouldn't keep them down 20 cents year round, but it's always nice when you get those times when they are cheaper so," said Gurney.
