Girl Who Bragged About Robbing Bank on YouTube in Court

From YouTube sensation to prison stripes, the now infamous Internet confessed bank robber came before a York County judge for the first time Tuesday.

The Hannah Sabata who appeared in court showed a side we haven't seen before: quiet, polite, respectful. A far cry from the girl on YouTube bragging about robbing a bank and stealing a car.

But, now the 19-year-old from Stromsburg has to face a judge for the crimes she confessed to in her viral video.

In court, she quickly waived her right to a preliminary hearing in exchange for copies of police reports relating to her case. She will appear in York County District Court early next month. And, while the video continues to generate buzz, York County Sheriff Radcliff says it's a very unusual case.

"In my 40 years, this the first time we've seen anything like this, a YouTube video or whatever," said Radcliff.

Radcliff said the video didn't influence the police investigation at all. In fact, Sabata was already in police custody when the video became widespread.

However, the sheriff says all the buzz surrounding the video may make it difficult to find a place to hold a fair trial.

Sabata is accused of robbing the Cornerstone Bank branch in Waco on November 27.
