Girls browsing through racks upon racks of dresses is becoming more common at places like Elegant Occasions Gowns in Lincoln.
The state tournament that's put hundreds of player on the court, has also brought them into here.
"We're usually busy on the weekends that's our biggest time but we probably double the traffic through our door on Girls State Basketball weekend," said Elegant Occasions Owner Cheryl Thompson.
Thompson says the timing of when the girls tournament rolls into Lincoln every year is perfect for their business.
"This helps make up for the slower times of the year, going into the fall is usually slow, this is a nice pickup from being slow through the fall and winter, holiday season," said Thompson.
With the construction of the Pinnacle Bank Arena and New Railyard, business owners are glad that the steps are being taken to keep the girls tournament here in the capital city.
"We're thankful that girls basketball is in town, if it wasn't we wouldn't get the foot traffic that we get these next two weekends," said Thompson.
While girls from as far away as Sidney and North Platte will be sorting through the racks, Thompson says they're prepared for the rush.
