The American Heart Association's Go Red Challenge is nearly halfway through!
All of the ladies involved are already seeing improvements in their energy levels and their nutrition.
One woman leading the way is Denise Hinkley!
Hinkley and the other participants are working closely with a fitness trainer and a dietitian at Madonna Proactive and also with cardiologists with the Nebraska Heart Hospital.
Personal Trainer, Pam Wessel, says Hinkley is pulling ahead of the other women in the challenge because she's putting in the most time at the gym and is tracking her calories.
"She's got a great support group," said Wessel.
Wessel says Hinkley brings friends to the gym with her and includes her daughter and son in her planned activities which gives her the accountability to stay on track with the program.
"She is creating a network of people that are involved with her challenge, so it's not just her," Wessel said.
Wassel, says Denise also is so successful because she has a positive attitude and is always open to try new exercises.
