Governor's Mansion Unveils Holiday Display

Governor Dave Heineman's home is officially decorated for the holidays.

It took staff three days to decorate the home. There are several trees, wreaths, ornaments and presents scattered throughout the residence.

One of the trees even has an ornament from the White House and from the State Capitol.

Governor's Residence Director Leisa Ausdemore says the theme is two-fold. "The theme we like is elegant and sophisticated. Because it is the people's home, the house of Nebraska and the Governor's home so homey, yet elegant and sophisticated."

This year's newest addition is the "Pure Nebraska" tree purchased as a recent fundraiser and donated to the Governor. It features cowboy hat and tractor ornaments, as well as wheat and potato sacks.

You can check out the display on Thursdays from 1pm - 4pm.
