A Grand Island man has been arrested on suspicion of felony motor vehicle homicide after a passenger in his car died, following a crash.

Officials say 29-year-old Donald Webben was jailed on suspicion of driving under the influence at the time of the Thursday morning crash, which killed Anthony "A.J." Sabin Jr., of Lincoln.

Sabin's obituary says the 22-year-old is a former Marine who served at Camp Pendleton, California, as well as several tours in Japan and Thailand. He married Christina A. Headrick on July 3, 2010, at St. Libory.

The obituary goes on to say, Sabin was discharged from the Marine Corps in June 2012 and he and his wife moved to Lincoln. He recently attended ATS Heavy Equipment Operating School in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin and began working for Dietzel, Inc. of Omaha.

The deadly crash happened near the unincorporated town of St. Libory.

The Howard County Sheriff's Department says Webben lost control of his car, which rolled. Sabin, who was riding in the back seat, was not wearing a seat belt. A 21-year-old woman also riding in the back seat was treated for injuries and released.

Sabin's obituary says services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Libory's Catholic Church in St. Libory. The Rev. Sidney B. Bruggeman will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery with graveside military honors by Carl Mogensen American Legion Post 119 of St. Paul and the U.S. Marine Corps Honors Team.

Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church, with a 7 p.m. vigil service.

Peters Funeral Home of St. Paul is in charge of the arrangements.
