Grand Island Police have taken a 15-year-old student into custody after threats were left on the Senior High phone system Friday and found Monday.
"At 9:10, the Grand Island Police Department received a complaint of a phone threat that was made to Grand Island Senior High on Friday of last week. At this time it is currently being investigated by the Grand Island Police Department," said Grand Island Police Officer Butch Hurst said early Monday afternoon.
According to Captain Kerry Mehlin, the caller made statements about shooting students and blowing up the school.
In a statement late Monday afternoon, Mehlin said Grand Island School Resource Officers working with the G.I. School system continue to investigate the incident. He said the male student was contacted at his home at approximately 4:00 p.m.
Mehlin says no steps were taken to carry out any of the threats.
