Grass Fire Near Waverly Blamed on Burning Trash

Emergency Crews battle a grass fire Tuesday afternoon after garbage burned out of control.

Waverly and Raymond Fire Departments were called 112th and Branched Oak Road just before noon on a report of a grass fire.

Crews battled the blaze and extinguished it within in hour. An estimated 10 acres burned in the fire.

Crews stayed on location Tuesday afternoon to check for hot spots.
