LINCOLN, Neb.-- A group gathered outside of the Federal Building Monday afternoon, celebrating 49 years of Medicare and the way it has helped millions of senior citizens in the United States receive medical help.
Al Mumm spoke to the crowd about his concern over bills in Congress that he feels could hurt the Medicare Program.
"We just want to make it clear to everybody that Medicare is very successful and we want to keep it going that way. Not attack it or privatize it or voucher it," said Mumm.
Mumm said the problem with vouchers is that insurance companies could leave sick senior citizens without coverage.
