HASTINGS, Neb. -- 7 out of the last 10 days severe storms have hit the area.
Hastings residents were out clearing downed tree limbs and debris Saturday just days after another storm struck the area.
Friday night wind gusts approached 80 miles per hour in some parts of the state.
76 miles per hour in Wood River and 67 miles per hour in Hastings.
A massive tree branch fell on a home on East 3rd Street last then rolled onto a car below. The homeowners said they were nearly hit by the falling tree.
"We heard bang, and we were like one or two seconds into the house when the limb hit the house. It was like a guardian angel," said homeowner Marlin Aldrich.
Both the car and the house have minor damage.
But across town another car owner wasn't so lucky. A tree limb snapped off in the wind crushing the roof a car likely totaling it.
