DO YOU HAVE A TIP FOR POLICE?
Police say a rarely seen drug is making a push into the capitol city, and one woman is dead because of it.
In the last month, police say three people have overdosed on heroin. The last was a 34-year-old woman who went to the hospital on Oct. 24. Police say she died two days later.
Another 34-year-old woman, plus a 30-year-old man overdosed this October. Another 24-year-old man was arrested Oct. 15 for possession of heroin.
Police say they rarely see heroin in Lincoln and are trying to figure out where it's coming from.
"We saw an influx of heroin 10-12 years ago and then it died away. We weren't seeing it or catching people with it and then, just recently, we've seen a resurgence of the drug. We don't know why it's popular again and it's something we are investigating and looking into," said Officer Katie Flood.
If you have any information police want you to call Crimestoppers at 475-3600 before someone else dies from an overdose.
