Hershey Woman Killed in Accident Near Sutherland
A Hershey woman is dead after an early morning accident north of Sutherland.
The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department says that just after midnight Monday morning deputies were called to the intersection of North Prairie Trace Road and West Platte Valley Road.
Deputies say at Ford F-250 pickup had been traveling westbound on Platte Valley Road when it drove through the intersection, struck a dirt bank, and came to a rest in the west ditch.
Korey Huebner, 24; Micah Koch, 24; and Jay Shotkoski, 28, all of Hershey, had been in the pickup. All were taken to Great Plains Regional Medical Center.
Huebner was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Deputies say they were later notified that Huebner died from her injuries.
Deputies say alcohol is believed to be a factor and seatbelts were not in use, but the investigation is ongoing.
