Lincoln Southwest High School went into code red lockdown Wednesday afternoon following a nearby hit-and-run crash.

According to Principal Rob Slauson, around 1:15 p.m., a former student and a passenger crashed into another vehicle at 14th Street & Mockingbird Lane. Both the driver and passenger took off running but police caught up with the passenger quickly.

The driver reportedly ran west toward the school. The school made the decision to go into lockdown until 2:20 p.m. Police have a positive identification of the driver.
