If you have already completed shopping for your holiday gifts, you may want to start thinking about when you'll send them. The United States Postal Service says they're expecting Monday, December 16 to be the busiest mailing day of 2013.
With more than 600 million pieces of mail processed throughout the day, they're also projecting more than 600 million customers to stop by post offices across the nation.
Folks at Gateway Mall in Lincoln say they're taking advantage of extended hours to get their holiday shopping done in time to send gifts to loved ones. Retailers say businesses hasn't been better.
"It's certainly been very busy this weekend, Friday and Saturday you could tell people were out Christmas shopping and getting ready for the holidays," said By Ur Side Boutique Owner, Ann Kraynik.
"We have noticed a great deal of pickup in business in the last few days, it seems like people are all of a sudden realizing that it's Christmas," said Suncreek Jewelry Owner, Marsha Cussen.
There's no need to panic if you haven't sent out your Christmas gifts, there are still a few days left to get your present delivered in time.
Follow these deadlines to get your card or package to it's proper destination by Christmas Day, December 25:
December 20: First Class
December 21: Priority Mail
December 23: Priority Mail Express
