Sometimes you just want to bake something in the oven that the entire family will enjoy. Banana bread is a great option. And it's a good way to get rid of all those ripe bananas on the counter. In House Works, we are getting a recipe for banana bread from a special guest.
Preheat oven to 350
1 ¾ cups flour
1 ¼ tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
1/3 cup butter
2/3 cup sugar
2 beaten eggs
1 cup smooshed bananas (approximately 3-4 bananas - the softer and smooshier the better)
½ semi sweet mini chocolate chips
½- 1 cup of pecans or walnuts
Smoosh together butter, sugar and bananas. Add eggs. Mix well.
In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking soda and baking powder.
Ad this to the banana mixture and stir thoroughly.
Pour into a 5X9 greased and floured loaf pan.
Bake 50-60 minutes, until a small skewer comes out clean.
Slice, serve and enjoy.
