In two days, volunteer dentists and their assistants will provide more than $750,000 in free dental care. The clinic is held at the Pershing Center on August 23-24, 2013 from 5:30 a.m to 5 p.m. The Nebraska Mission of Mercy (MOM) program has coordinated this clinic since 2005 with volunteer dentists from all over Nebraska.
The clinic is aimed to help low-income families with dental needs and to educate them about proper hygiene and other free services they can use throughout the year.
Dr. Jim Jenkins, Nebraska MOM Co-Chair, said the event offers an important service for people who don't have access to dental care. "Dental care is important to an individual's overall health," Dr. Jenkins said.
