Lincoln's Parks and Recreation hosted it's annual play day event Wednesday.
All the kids from city summer camps get together for friendly competition. Campers used their newly learned skills to play tennis and other sports. Then it was off to the pool to cool off.
Parks and Rec officials say it's all about keeping kids active.
"Our big focus is "Fundamental Healthy Me". This is the grand finale, a healthy day out in the park participating in activities," said Nicole Weber, Community Center Site Supervisor with Lincoln Parks and Recreation.
Rec programs don't end with summer. After school programs will start up with the new school year. Just get in touch with your local recreation center.
