A father and son on a hunting trip in Cass County were hit by a car Wednesday night.
According to the Cass County Sheriff, the accident happened between 108th Street and 120th Street on Van Dorn Street, South of Avoca, Nebraska.
Officials said 37-year-old Benjamin Pope swerved to miss a car that was parked below the crest of a hill and hit two men standing outside the vehicle.
Twenty-eight-year-old Brandon Proplesch of Bakersfield, California and his father, 48-year-old Bruce Proplesch from Shawnee, Kansas were taken to Creighton Medical Center with broken bones and other injuries.
There were several other hunters from Otoe County, sitting inside of the parked car, who were not injured.
