Lincoln, NEB - Weather permitting, a fog seal project that was scheduled for August 27 is now set for September 3 on I-180 in Lincoln, according to the Nebraska Department of Roads. A fog seal is oil sprayed onto the surface of a newer road to seal the fine cracks.
State maintenance forces will be doing a fog seal from Reference Post 0 to Reference Post 1.6. All lanes in both directions will be closed Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m. from Fletcher Avenue to US-6 (Cornhusker Highway) until Thursday morning at 6:00 a.m.
From the east and north, motorists may access downtown using 27th and 56th Streets. From the west and northwest, use Interchange 399 on Cornhusker Highway to I-180.
Message boards will be used. The work is anticipated to take one night. Motorists should expect to see delays and are reminded to drive cautiously through highway work zones.
