Two men were arrested and 40 lbs of marijuana seized after a traffic stop at the Giltner Exit on Interstate 80.

Around 11:18 a.m., Saturday, November 3, a trooper stopped an eastbound 2004 GMC Envoy for failure to signal at the Giltner Interchange on I-80.

The trooper was given consent to search the vehicle. The search led to the seizure of 40 lbs of marijuana. The marijuana was contained in 10 lbs packages in four duffle bags in the cargo area of the SUV.

The driver of the vehicle, Jose Manuel Figueroa, 24, Selma, Calif., and a passenger in the vehicle, Martinez Cruz Garcia, 20, a Mexican national, were both lodged in the Hamilton County Jail.

Figueroa and Garcia each face a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
