The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office said a Sterling man has been killed in a two-vehicle collision on an icy highway in eastern Nebraska.

LSO said 22-year-old Justin Muhm died Sunday after a crash on Highway 43.

It happened about a half mile south of Saltillo Road around 8:45 Sunday morning.

LSO said Muhm was driving a Chevy Monte Carlo southbound on Highway 43 when he lost control on the icy road. A northbound Chevy Astro driven by 42-year-old Loren Rice, of Bennet, hit the driver's side of Muhm's car.

Muhm was pronounced dead at Bryan West Campus. Rice was not injured.

Authorities say both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
