LINCOLN, Neb. -- A spree of indecent exposures in the Near South neighborhood has Lincoln Police concerned and asking for residents to be on alert.

Officer Katie Flood said that police have received nine reports of indecent exposure since April 29.

The suspect is described as a black male, late 20's to early 30's, 5'7"-6'0" tall, small to medium build.

Flood said police are concerned about the frequency of incidents, as well as the escalating behavior. Flood said the incidents started as public exposures but have also moved to private encounters. In one case, a 15-year-old girl woke up with the man touching her midsection before he ran away when the teen woke up.

"There's always a concern with sex crimes that it's going to escalate to a first-degree assault," Flood said.
