Interstate 80 westbound lanes are now open at North 27th Street following a crash which caused both cars to catch fire.
The crash happened around 5:45 Wednesday night. Traffic on I-80 was backed up to the 56th Street exit.
NSP said around 7:15 the lanes were reopened.
NSP told 10/11 a car broke down in the center driving lane. The driver was out of the car near the center median, when a full size SUV slammed into the back of the car at 70mph.
NSP said the crash caused both cars to burst into flames.
Emergency crews took the driver of the SUV to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue was on scene assisting to put out the car fire.
