HASTINGS, Neb. -- The Howard County Sheriff's Department has ruled the death of 21-year-old Jackson Dinsdale accidental after receiving the results of an autopsy performed on Sunday, May 4.

The Sheriff's office has determined Dinsdale died as a result of intentionally cutting off oxygen to his brain with the goal of inducing temporary syncope and euphoria by partially suspending himself with a collar around his neck. During this time Dinsdale was rendered unconscious and unable to recover.

There was no evidence of alcohol or drugs being involved according to the Sheriff's Department. The office also says there was absolutely no evidence to suggest Dinsdale intentionally wanted to harm himself.

The Department said, "This was just an intentional event that turned into a very tragic accidental unattended death," in a press release.
