The First Annual "Joining Forces...Saving Lives" forum will be held in the Auld Pavilion, 1650 Memorial Drive at Antelope Park with Mike Arms, President of the nationally known Helen Woodward Animal Center in San Diego, CA as the Keynote Speaker.
The "Joining Forces....Saving Lives" forum is a free event open to the public.
Mike Arms has been dedicated to saving lives of animals for most of his life and he will captivate the audience with his story and provide information on the success of the Helen Woodward Animal Center and how Nebraska can change the face of animal welfare in positive and profound ways.
The Helen Woodward Animal Center is a dynamic, evolving institution that is an agent of change for the animal welfare world. Not only are they operating innovative and beneficial programs for animals and people, but they are teaching others around the world how to successfully market and promote their animal adoption and humane programs and stop the senseless death of thousands of animals.
"We are truly blessed to have an amazing nationally recognized speaker come to Lincoln," stated Melissa Beecher, who first heard Mike Arms speak at the No More Homeless Pets Conference in 2010 (which is sponsored by Best Friends Animal Society, the largest No Kill animal sanctuary in the United States). "Mike Arms can teach us so much and will have the whole audience looking at the animal welfare world differently and ready to make a real difference in Nebraska."
During this event, there will also be a session on Compassion Fatigue, and an information session with a panel of several Nebraska animal organizations regarding their unique programs.
The goal of the event is to bring animal organizations and the general public together to find new ways to change the face of animal welfare in positive and profound ways in Nebraska.
