Students and faculty were allowed back into Lincoln East High School after fire crews investigate smoke smell.

Several fire crews responded to the School at 1000 S. 70th Street shortly after 10:00 a.m. Crews were called when office workers smelled smoke in the office area.

"When crews got here they could smell smoke coming from the vents and a strong smoke smell in the office area. They checked it out and could not find visible smoke or fire. We shut down the heating and cooling system and that seemed to alleviate the problem," said acting Battalion Chief Scott Bastin.

The fire is under investigation. "There were no incidents and no one was hurt," said Bastin.
