Lincoln Fire and Rescue responded to bomb threats at three CVS Pharmacies Friday afternoon. They say all stores have been checked and cleared.
The first threat in Lincoln came in at about 1:30 Friday afternoon. Officials say the caller threatened to bomb the CVS at 14th and Superior. About 10 minutes later, they say the second threat was made against the store at 48th and O street. 10 minutes after that, officials say a called threatened to blow up the CVS at 48th and Van Dorn.
According to LPS Safety Director Joe Wright, Belmont Elementary near 14th and Superior was not put in lockdown at the time of the threat. But, he advised the school not to let anyone come into the school or leave.
Threats were also made to three CVS stores in Omaha.
Officials say the threats against the stores in Omaha started at about 1:10 Friday afternoon. In about 30 minutes, they say a caller threatened CVS stores at 10770 Fort Street, 1919 North 90th Street and 2609 South 132nd Street in Omaha.
Officials say this has been happening throughout the country. They say CVS corporate office sent an email, warning Lincoln CVS locations.
